Techniques and Applications for Sentiment Analysis

Abstract

The article discusses computer science research into sentiment analysis, or opinion mining, which includes the social and psychological aspects of decision making. Consumer research software development, social media research, and marketing research are discussed, and the author presents an analysis of an online hotel review as an example of subjective sentence analysis. Visualization software, digital textual analysis, and sentence and document-level sentiment are mentioned, as well as linguistic and noun-phrase analysis.
